Il Cortile — The Courtyard

Every masseria turns inward, toward a courtyard that once held the whole life of the farm within it. Here, grain was threshed, bread was kneaded, wool was spun, and the day's work was divided each morning before the fields called everyone away. The courtyard wasn't a passageway — it was the masseria's living room, its workshop, and its meeting place all at once. Walking through it today is walking through the same open-air space where generations of hands shaped this land before ours.
